A Funeral at Heavens Door

Only lovers lend their voice
To the peace-less dead
Speaking from their heart and soul
With nothing to be read

Then someone will play a tune
One heard too many times before
But now we listen deeper
Praying they’re knocking at that door

Sing like Leonard Cohen
Play like Hendrix’s ghost
Leave your softest moments
The parts we cherish most

Some would call you gentle
Other called you cruel
But now both waters mingle
In a single salty pool

Play it one more time, we say
Play it for our friend
That spoken little master piece
Whose melody won’t end

Sing like Leonard Cohen
Play like Hendrix’s ghost
Leave your softest momnts
The parts we cherish most

Do you have this put to music?
